Last updated: August 2026

I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Notice explains how I collect and use information when you contact me about a tattoo, request a quote or make an appointment.

1. Who I am

I am Larissa Travassos, a self-employed tattoo artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the personal information that I collect and use in connection with my tattoo enquiries and services.

If you have any questions about how I handle your information, you can contact me using the contact details provided on my website.

2. What information I collect

When you submit a tattoo enquiry, I may collect:

  • Your email address

  • Your telephone number

  • Details about the tattoo you would like

  • Information about the placement, size and design you are considering

  • Reference images that you choose to provide

  • Any other information you choose to include in your enquiry

I may also ask you to let me know if you have any health conditions or circumstances that could affect the tattooing process.

Please do not provide unnecessary medical information through the enquiry form.

The studio has a separate client consent and health declaration process. Health information collected through the studio's consent form is handled by the studio under its own data protection arrangements.

3. Why I collect your information

I use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your enquiry

  • Understand your tattoo ideas and requirements

  • Determine whether I am able to take on your tattoo request

  • Provide an appropriate quote

  • Contact you about your enquiry

  • Arrange and manage your appointment

  • Communicate with you about your tattoo

  • Keep appropriate business and booking records

  • Meet legal, accounting and tax requirements where applicable

I only collect information that is relevant and necessary for these purposes. This reflects the UK GDPR principle of data minimisation, which requires personal data to be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary.

4. Health information

If you choose to tell me about a health condition or other health-related circumstance that could affect your tattoo, this may constitute special category data under UK GDPR.

I will only use this information for purposes relevant to assessing and safely providing your tattoo service. I will not use health information for marketing or unrelated purposes.

Health information is subject to additional requirements under UK GDPR. Where I process health information myself, I will ensure that an appropriate lawful basis and special category condition apply.

The studio's separate health and consent form is managed by the studio and is subject to the studio's own privacy arrangements.

5. Reference images

You may provide photographs or other images as references for your tattoo.

I use these images to understand your ideas, preferences, placement and design requirements and to prepare for your appointment.

Please only provide images that you are comfortable sharing with me for this purpose.

If you provide an image containing another identifiable person, you should ensure that you have permission to share it where necessary.

6. How your information is collected and stored

Your information may be collected through my website enquiry form, email, telephone or other direct communication with me.

My website and enquiry form are operated through Squarespace. Information submitted through the enquiry form is processed through Squarespace's systems and may be sent to my professional email account so that I can respond to your enquiry.

Squarespace acts as a service provider/data processor in relation to information that it processes on my behalf.

I may also use other service providers, such as email, payment or accounting services, where necessary to operate my business.

7. Who I share your information with

I do not sell your personal information.

I may share information with service providers where this is necessary to operate my business, such as providers of website, email, payment or accounting services.

I may also disclose information where I am legally required to do so, for example to HMRC or another relevant authority.

I will not share your personal information with other people for marketing purposes without an appropriate lawful basis.

8. How I protect your information

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

This includes using password-protected accounts and devices and taking reasonable care when handling client information.

However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Information relating to enquiries that do not result in an appointment will not be kept indefinitely.

Information relating to bookings, payments and completed services may need to be retained for longer to meet business, accounting, tax or legal requirements.

When information is no longer required, I will take reasonable steps to securely delete it.

10. Your rights

If you have concerns about how I have handled your personal information, please contact me first so that I can try to resolve the issue.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection regulator.

12. Changes to this Privacy Notice

The most recent version will be available on my website.
